Management

The collection, documentation, storage, sharing and preservation of research data is crucial to its protection, accessibility and discoverability as new digital technologies create massive quantities of data at an explosive rate.

Research data management (RDM) is supported nationally through the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, and includes the following services:

  • Federated Research Data Repository (FRDR)
    • a national, bilingual platform for sharing and preserving Canadian research data
  • Lunaris
    • a scalable, national research data discovery service
  • DMP Assistant
    • a national, online, bilingual data management planning tool
  • Learning & Training
    • tools and resources to help with data management planning, access, preservation, and discovery
  • Network of Experts
    • librarians, data management professionals, institutional research officers, ethics officers and members of government and non-governmental organizations from across Canada
  • Publications (Zenodo)
  • Borealis (the Canadian Dataverse Repository)
    • a bilingual, multi-disciplinary, secure, Canadian research data repository supported by academic libraries and research institutions across Canada
