2022 ACENET Community Meeting

Thu, Apr 28, 2022 @ 1:00pm - 2:30pm AT
Status: Completed
Join us for our online community meeting.
  • Find out the latest updates on ACENET and the Digital Research Alliance of Canada
  • Meet our staff
  • Get to know your Research Directorate and how they’re working for you
  • Hear about what’s coming down the pipe for research data management
  • Tell us what you’d like to see in our training and hear about our upcoming plans
As always, take advantage of this opportunity to share with us how we can better support your research!

We’ll also be featuring two of our researchers at the meeting.

Colin Farquharson (Professor, MUN Earth Sciences) and Xushan Lu (Postdoc) join ACENET’s Oliver Stueker to discuss how they’re using advanced computing to develop new methods and software for computer modelling of geophysical data. This work is critical to the need for sophisticated exploration strategies to help us achieve our net-zero CO2 emissions targets in an environment of growing global demand for minerals.

Catherine Mah (CRC in Promoting Healthy Populations; Dalhousie Food Policy Lab PI) and Nathan Taylor (Ph.D. Candidate) join ACENET’s Chris Geroux to take us through their work on the policy and environmental determinants of diet and consumption.

The lab has a particular interest in how stores influences dietary behaviour, and this case study will highlight how the ACENET platform and resources have supported PhD thesis work on the cost of a healthy diet.

Please register in advance, and take a moment in the form to indicate any topics or questions you’d particularly like us to talk about in our Ask Me Anything session.

Faculty, students, researchers, ACENET users and those interested in learning more are all welcome!
