Heads up Limit Texas Hold’em Display Showcases World-Class Artificial Intelligence
Austin, Texas – Compute Canada is hosting the Canada Pavilion at SC15, an international conference for high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis in Austin, Texas this November 16th to 20th. Compute Canada is the national provider for advanced research computing in Canada serving more than 70 institutions and more than 10,000 researchers and their international and industry partners.
The pavilion showcases examples of Canadian excellence in advanced research computing to more than 10,000 delegates. “We can all be proud of the Canadian research excellence fuelled by Compute Canada’s advanced research computing platform and our expert support,” shares Mark Dietrich, President and Chief Executive Officer at Compute Canada. “Our exhibit will present world-leading research in key areas such as artificial intelligence and the life sciences.”
Compute Canada is hosting several unique displays at the Canada Pavilion including:
- poker playing computer program powered by “unbeatable” artificial intelligence software created by the Computer Poker Research Group at the University of Alberta
- cutting-edge cloud based technology for health research by Toronto based HPC4Health Consortia
- overview of results of a live demo on DNA Sequencing using Obsidian dsync+ and Obsidian Longbow E100s to transfer sequence data from SC15 to the University of Alberta using aligners like BLAST or LAST
